Freediving is becoming more and more popular, as shown by the increase in freediving seminars. So, what’s so fascinating about this sport? Is it about how deep you can go, pushing your own limits to the extreme, the physical challenge, or the beauty of the underwater world? It’s probably a combination of all of the above, as well as the amazing feeling of being completely relaxed underwater. When you reach that state you’re just a little bit closer to understand the world of the dolphins. It’s far more than just snorkelling. It’s the ability to remain underwater for a long period of time and to dive to depths that someone without training would only be able to do with equipment. As you develop your freediving skills, you’ll find that you get more satisfaction when exploring the underwater world. And it will increase your safety and relaxation when scuba diving too.

Dahab is THE place to learn freediving. Freedive Dahab is a freediving training center and SSI school, run by Lotta Ericson and Linda Paganelli.

Freedive Dahab is one of the first Freediving Centres in the world: started in 2004 by former world record holder Lotta Ericson, joined in 2005 by national record holder in all depth disciplines Linda Paganelli. In 2010 Freedive Dahab became the first SSI Freediving Instructor Training Centre.

The freediving center is located at the Lighthouse area close to the beach ,where most of the courses take place. They have a big and comfortable AC classroom, a spacious equipment room and a big outside terrace, so there is room for big groups. There are outside showers for the summer and 2 hot showers inside for the winter, and Free wi-fi for the guests.

Freedive Dahab teaches SSI courses. SSI is a well known scuba organization who launched its very successful freediving program in 2009 and it quickly became the leading organization in the freediving education. SSI is present in 250 countries and you will be able to continue your freediving education whenever you are travelling.

In a two-day course you’ll learn the basics of free diving. The theory is backed up with practice and most students find they can hold their breath for up to three or four minutes after just few days training, enabling them to dive to 15/20 metres.

Maybe you’re already a freediver and want to brush up on your skills or just extend your training with Freedive Dahab: all the instructors have the highest teaching and safety standards and they will be coaching you, giving you guidance such as feedback on technique as well as providing your safety, and they will evaluate your abilities and adjust the training to suit your individual level.
